Jan Jacobs has over 25 years of experience in Philips R&D programme management of technology and components used in displays and medical imaging systems. He started his career as scientist in Philips Research and acquired a PhD degree on his work on laser-induced metal deposition on semiconductors. Subsequently he was active in the development of LCD and CRT manufacturing technologies and products. He was also the leader of a multidisciplinary project team to develop CMOS-based X-ray detectors. His current position is innovation manager in the field of imaging components for diagnostic and image-guided therapy systems.
